It Seems Fashion Editors Are Not Immune To The Economic Crisis!

Which is what you must assume when considering Vogue Editor Anna Wintour wore this same Carolina Herrera floral shift dress three times in the space of two weeks. Firstly she wore it front row at Paris Fashion Week to watch the Salvatore Ferragamo show, five days later she wore it to Wimbledon to the Royal Box to watch Roger Federer and finally, the dress made a return visit to Paris Fashion Week for a front row seat at the Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel show.

What to make of this fashion faux pas? Hopefully a conscious statement by the most powerful opinion in fashion that says - ‘it’s ok to wear the same thing over and over again.’ Because really, of course we should be ok with that!

You Know The US Economy Is In A Bad State When….

people stop buying premium coffee and search for cheaper brews to save a dollar. This has apparently forced mega brand and US institution Starbucks to close 600 stores and eliminate about 12,000 jobs in the process. The closures are also due in part to the competition they have faced in recent months from McDonalds (we’ve seen the McCafe concepts rolled out here to some success) and the multi million dollar launch by 7-Eleven of it’s new freshly brewed coffee.

Such a sad state of affairs and closer to home, it seems that just about everyone I talk to that has a business - especially hospitality - is doing it really tough as everyone tightens their spending.

Sigh.
