This whole RNS Church Debate
Have you heard? There is a church on the ground of the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney which is going to pull down its crucifixes etc.. so they don’t offend people of other faith who may want to use the church to pray. Well god dame it, I couldn’t agree more! I personally would tick the box of ’spiritual’. When I had my recent lengthy stay at hospital (not RNS), I was looking for a quiet space to meditate. Couldn’t find it. So I welcome a beautiful church that is clear of other faiths, where you can go for some quiet respite. You certainly can’t get peace and quiet in your own room, especially when they’re monitoring you every hour or so (taking blood pressure, temperature etc.) and they come storming in without consideration to your being awake or asleep. Or this one is the best, when the doctors start their rounds before 7am - they give you heavy duty tranquillizers to sleep then expect you to hold an intelligent conversation before 7am!!!!
So good on RNS. I would have made their beautiful, faith free space, my sanctuary!
